McHello

This post is a trade post for the McAloo Tikki post from Abeer. In case you do not know what is a McAloo Tikki;

In return, I will be doing a review on Spicy Grilled Chicken burger from the same source, McDonald. What is so special about this burger could only be defined when you take your first bite, which rob you off your entire list of vocabulary. Visual aid would perhaps, be a better help. Oh and also the fact that you could not get it in Malaysia despite the similarity in name (talk about being creative). Had it in China.

Be glad this is not a pork burger post else my blog would be a non-halal blog.

"There is also a seasonal Chinese New Year meal available, including Grilled Chicken Burger, curly fries, with a horoscope of the twelve zodiac animals of Chinese astrology and traditional "red" packets, or gift bags, for monetary gift giving as good luck. Note that all chicken burgers offered in Chinese McDonald's use thigh fillet (e.g. Premium Grilled Thigh Fillet Burger, Hot and Spicy Grilled Thigh Fillet Burger), rather than breast meat as per usual in occidental countries."

(Wikipedia, 2011)

Please take extra note of the bold ones. In case you missed it, by any chance, I extracted it for your convenience.

"Note that all chicken burgers offered in Chinese McDonald's use thigh fillet (...)"

I bought it thinking it was just a regular burger because they had that advertised as one of their newly launched item. And also because Chinese New Year is close, we assumed it was Prosperity burger. Being an awful banana, all I could say is just "我想要那个" (I want that) with my wriggly index finger poking at the picture assuming it is a Prosperity burger.

So the nice Chinese girl behind the counter replied with a string of Chinese Mandarin which the translation lost somewhere within me. Next thing I asked if she could converse in Chinese Cantonese. Apparently, this set comes with a milkshake. And because they ran out of vanilla and strawberry milkshake, she asked if I would like a cappuccino/ latte milkshake in replace. Anyone who say no shall be deemed as an idiot and that would unfortunately be me. But because my brother wanted it, so he got it.

What I thought was a normal Prosperity chicken burger was not a normal Prosperity burger. This burger is god sent. It is so geniusly made that no words can describe it. I swear I would eat it everyday if they ever sell it in Malaysia, specifically Ipoh and KL.

The bun was soft and the meat patty was awesome. I think the meat is nice because -

"Note that all chicken burgers offered in Chinese McDonald's use thigh fillet (...)"

YES! They use chicken thighs as the meat patty! I think that is where the pure-genius-mouth-watering-breath-taking experience came from. They use chili powder and the pungent aroma just filled my nostril without me knowing. And it was that moment, it rob me off my list of vocabulary.

If you are going China, you have to get this burger. I am not too sure about its halal factor. I did ask for pork burger but they only sell it for breakfast like our Breakfast Set replacing the chicken patty with pork patty. What a waste and you thought that half the McDonald menu over there would be filled with pork burgers.

Oh, I think I forgot to mention the price.

25 CNY

And that ladies and gentlemen, is equalizes to -

11.5919 MYR

(xe.com, 2011)

I KID YOU NOT! It is really 25 CNY! For a set! Now, before I end it, another vanity shot of the burger.

Author's note: I assure you that when I had this burger, the temperature was 6degrees and we walked the entire day (in that temperature) and we are tired and lethargic and therefore, delirious. Oh and I only have that one picture of the burger.
